Tucson Dragway hosted the 2020 Tucson Dragway Reunion and Team Race last weekend. The event was smaller than normal due to State and County Health Restrictions placed on the track but nevertheless it was an event to remember! Nitro Altereds, Nitro Nostalgia Funny Cars and Top Alcohol Funny Cars were among just some of the cars that attended this year.
Tucson Dragway inducted 7 into the Arizona Drag Racing Hall of Fame. Dan Owens, Tom Koenen, Ralph Wong, Jim Baker, Al Arriaga, Dave & Carol Karcher and Gary Bulley.
New to the Reunion this year was Uncle Dan’s Tri-Five Showdown! This class was a fun addition to the Reunion action brining in 17 Tri-Five’s to compete for these new trophy's created by Dan Owens.
Tucson Dragway Fans were treated to some great match racing… the Nitro Altered “Plan A” driven by Johnny West and the Speed Sport Nitro Nostalgia Funny Car driven by James Day! John Aleman’s Sheepherder made some hits with Paula Martin driving, along with a couple alcohol funny cars, blown door slammers and altereds!
The Hot Rod Parking and Car Show area was packed with some beautiful rides!
